SHARED ROOMS The shared rooms are bright and spacious with comfortable beds. Triple and doubles available.
PRIVATE ROOMS For those who prefer more privacy and comfort we offer guesthouse-style single and double rooms. The private rooms have views of Laugarvatn lake and Hekla volcano. They also offer easy access to our large balconies, ideal spots for catching the northern lights.

Laugarvatn Fontana
Laugarvatn Fontana is a invigorating hot spring where you can enjoy the healing powers of the geothermal water; soak in a natural pool, relax your muscles in the steam rooms, or for the venturesome, take a dip in the refreshing lake. The warm pools and hot pots vary in depth, size, and temperature just like the three traditional steam rooms.

In the spirit of the historic Heradsskolinn school, the restaurant evoke memories of the old days. The menu draws inspiration from the original school that opened here in 1928.
The restaurant has a fantastic view of Laugarvatn lake. While enjoying breakfast, you can watch the sun rise over the serene body of water.
The food is devine, with local wild fish, plentiful soups and salads and homemade breads and a delicious waffle stand with decadent dark chocolate to smother on top.
We finish every dinner with a delicious homemade cake with fresh cream or local grass-fed ice-cream from a neighboring farm.
Enjoy traditional Icelandic cuisine in the dining room or have a coffee or tea in the library.
